the past

My name is Michelle Christiansen Moland. I am 20 years old. It wasn't my lifetime dream to become a graphic designer. Actually, it wasn't what I planned at all. My original plan was to be an interior designer. I ended up abandoning that path when I had a bad experience with a school I started. So I chose my hobby to be my career, and I haven't regretted it a day. This is what I was ment to be.

the present

Born and raised in a little town in Norway called Porsgrunn, I've never been a smalltowngirl. The minute I had the chance to move to Oslo, I jumped on it. I thrive in the city, with all the people and so much going on all the time. Although I don't really like Norway. But all my friends and family is here, so I'll stay. Well, I will be away for a few years. But I'll come back and settle here when Im done with my education.

Right now I am a studying graphic design at Noroff. It's a great school, and I have learnt so much although I have only gone one year. 08/09 will be a year off. I feel like I will get the most out of the second year at Noroff if I have a year to grow and mature, to learn more about myself as a designer.

the future

When I am done at Noroff, I have big plans of going to England to get a Masters degree. First stop will be Teesside University for a BA(hons), and then who knows? All I know is that I want to get a great education, to be the foundation for a (hopefully) great career.

As my designer statement says, I have just started this game. I have not yet decided wich direction I want to take, if I want to work with print, or web, or maybe even motion design. I haven't got my own personal style yet, wich I think is a plus. Everything I do influences me in a new way. I have so many things I want to do and learn, so much I want to experience and try out. I guess most people want a graphic designer that has strict rutines and a very specific style. But how about trying someone fresh, someone with a wide open mind? Give me a chance, and let me overwhelm you
